STAR Online Resources Info Guide – A self-paced visual aid created to help paraeducators quickly access and apply STAR Autism Support materials.
Overview
This Google Slides job aid was created to support ILC certificated staff in navigating and using STAR Autism Support's online resources. The guide is asynchronous, visual, and easy to reference during the school day.
Process
I collaborated with our ILC teacher (subject matter expert), who originally created a basic outline of STAR resources. I then redesigned and expanded the material using instructional design strategies to improve clarity, usability, and visual appeal.
I applied principles such as:
Chunking information into digestible slides
Using icons, screenshots, and buttons to enhance navigation
Aligning layout and content with adult learning principles
Prioritizing real classroom relevance and ease of use
The final product is a ready-to-share Google Slides deck educators can use independently.
